JAMES CUDJOE, Techbeam

James K. Cudjoe is an Information Technology business leader with extensive experience in providing IT and business process solutions for a wide variety of industrial and service organizations worldwide. As the IT and e-business/e-government specialist on the Telecom/Telematique team, he developed the strategy and implementation plan for electronic government for the Kyrgyz Republic in 2003 under a USTDA grant. He managed the requirements analysis, recommended the platform, and identified software, hardware, and systems solutions. This project introduced the design and planning for e-government programs, systems, applications, and services in small developing countries. Mr. Cudjoe guided the officials, managers, and technical specialists through the essential process of understanding functions and business processes, and re-engineering government to optimize the technology and systems for productivity and service delivery. He won the praise and gratitude of the Kyrgyz e-Government team by designing a program that was relevant and appropriate to their environment.

In 2003, Mr. Cudjoe successfully completed a consulting project for the Transportation Security Administration of U.S. Federal Department of Homeland Security, where as project team leader he managed the requirements analysis and risk and mitigation identification for the transitioning of the agency to new IT systems and services providers.

For the Government of the Bahamas, Mr. Cudjoe has been a lead consultant, from 2004-2005, on operational process management for the transformation project for the state-owned telecommunication company. He assesses current infrastructure and operations, and guided executives and teams to execute process improvement projects.

At General Electric Company for many years, he achieved significant results through positions in global solutions marketing, software engineering, large scale program implementations, and consulting. He has managed systems and projects involving Internet, Wide Area Network, PC, and mainframe platform technologies. He is an e-Commerce implementation expert with in-depth knowledge of Electronic Data Interchange and financial industry transaction standards.

As solutions marketing manager, he introduced new products to market with diligent assessment of market needs and prioritization of worldwide clients' requirements. He has led several cross functional teams of software engineers, consultants, implementers, and support staff to deliver cost saving and productivity solutions for commercial clients. With training and certification in Six Sigma quality methodology application, he has accomplished business process improvement projects for GE.

Mr. Cudjoe has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Finance) and a Master of Science in Technology Management, both from The American University in Washington, D.C. He has published articles in the Journal of Cash Management and Telecommunications magazine.
