Ali Ghalambor, Ph.D., P.E.

Dr. Ali Ghalambor is American Petroleum Institute Endowed Professor and Head of the Department of Petroleum Engineering at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He received Bachelor and Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering from University of Louisiana and Ph.D. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Professor Ghalambor has more than 30 years of industrial and academic experience. He held engineering and supervisory positions at Tenneco Oil Company, Amerada Hess Corporation, and Occidental Research Corporation. Furthermore, he has served as a consultant to many petroleum production and service companies as well as governmental agencies, professional organizations, and the United Nations.

Dr. Ghalambor has authored or co-authored seven books and manuals and more than one hundred technical articles published in various journals and conference proceedings. Dr. Ghalambor has delivered numerous invited Technical Presentations and Courses in Drilling & Well Completion Worldwide.

Professor Ghalambor received the distinguished achievement award for Petroleum Engineering Faculty by the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He has also received service awards from the American Petroleum Institute and the Society of Petroleum Engineers. Dr. Ghalambor serves as a Commissioner on the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology and served as the Director of the Central and Southeastern North America Region on the SPE Board of Directors, Chairman of the SPE International Symposium and Exhibition on Formation Damage Control, Program Evaluator for Engineering and Accreditation Commission and Technical Editor of Drilling and Completion Journal.

Professor Ghalambor is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, American Petroleum Institute, American Association of Drilling Engineers, Society of Professional Well Log analysts, Society of Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers, Louisiana Engineering Society, Tau Beta Pi, Pi Epsilon Tau, and Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Societies.
