IHRDC offers a broad range of programs that comprehensively cover the Management Themes that are required under the bid documents along with a number of other important topics required for an effective management training program. They propose to offer these subjects in the seven one-week courses drawing from the IHRDC Petroleum Certificate Program, Gas Certificate Program, and Business Workshops.
IHRDC only uses the most qualified and knowledgeable professionals possessing a high degree of effectiveness in instructional delivery. IHRDC is a fully integrated training, publishing and consulting organization serving the worldwide petroleum, natural gas and electric power industries. IHRDC was founded in Boston in 1969, and has since developed, and offers to its worldwide clients, a broad range of advanced technical and management development programs, business workshops, custom video production, consulting services and extensive technology references, and other training products.
IHRDC offers its broad capabilities in many forms. It produces state-of-the-art video and multimedia programs, publishes training and technology reference products, conducts public and private programs in management, business, and technology and provides a broad range of multimedia production and consulting services for clients in energy centers throughout the world. More recently, it has embarked on the development of comprehensive simulation training multimedia systems for the energy industries. IHRDC offers these extensive capabilities from its home office in Boston and branch offices in Amsterdam and Cairo. A staff of 35 full-time personnel, 150 worldwide associates, and 22 sales representatives provide support to IHRDC in its worldwide mission. IHRDC has the expertise and experience to deliver oil and gas training in Arabic in the U.S. and the Middle East and to conduct oil and gas sector Study Tours. A current project demonstrating this capability is the International Petroleum Management Certificate Program being offered now for the 15th time. In this four-week program, the first two weeks are devoted to an intensive and comprehensive presentation of the key business aspects of the international petroleum industry, from upstream to downstream. The final two weeks cover the important functional management topics and leadership skills needed to remain competitive in today's industry. Coverage includes the technical, economic, environmental, legal, financial, marketing, human resources and accounting issues facing today's manager in each of the functional areas of the petroleum industry. This is followed by strategic planning, organizational change, and project-related management know-how; and key leadership and negotiating skills required by today's international petroleum industry manager. The instructional format includes a careful balance of lectures by a strong and diverse faculty chosen for their excellent communication skills, and a challenging petroleum business workshop in which participants build an integrated oil company.
A second recent project demonstrating ability to provide training in Arabic is the IHRDC contract with the National Drilling Company of Abu Dhabi to train a minimum of 280 national trainees over three years. Twenty four (24) trainees successfully passed the National Drilling Company Assessment to become Material Supervisors and Technical Assistants in July 2006. IHRDC's Cairo Office, which specializes in the Competency Development Training of O&M personnel, is managing the NDC Project for IHRDC. The training of Material Supervisors and Technical Assistants is an additional part of IHRDC's Accelerated Competency Based Drilling Technology Program that will prepare national trainees to meet world-class standards. The program includes short-term classroom instruction followed by rigorous on-the-job competency development training.
A third project is the October 2004 IHRDC agreement with the Egyptian Operating Company for Natural Gas Liquefaction Projects S.A.E. (ELNG) of Cairo, to develop and train 85 newly hired Egyptians employees who will operate and maintain this innovative new LNG facility. IHRDC will apply its Competency Assurance Process to assure ELNG that each employee will be trained to meet the jointly developed O&M competencies for each identified job.
