Telecom/Telematique, Inc. (T/TI) is joined in this program by Dr. Djebbar Tiab of UPTEC and Dr. David Donohue of IHRDC in crafting and delivering the technical and management courses. Faculty are drawn from the University of Oklahoma, SMU, University of Houston, New Mexico Tech, and University of Texas at Austin. Five are international training consultants who conduct management training in emerging markets.

The program is divided between the Technical Curriculum and the Management Curriculum developed by T/TI in consultation with the Ministry of Oil and UPTEC. The courses will be taught by U.S. faculty and instructors in Amman, Cairo, Houston, and Norman. Industry experts will participate in the classes in Amman or by videoconference or teleconference from the U.S. Case studies, field experience, models, and best practices from industry will be presented by the industry experts.

An Iraqi professor of engineering or management will support the faculty and provide interpretation as needed. They will facilitate those courses to be repeated in Iraq by distance learning using T/TI produced courseware. Arabic versions of courseware will be provided for selected courses.

About half of the 630 Iraqi trainees will study in Amman during March - May 2006, and nearly as many in Suliamania in August - October 2006. Forty senior Iraqi engineers and managers will come to the U.S. this June - July for Study Tours and specialized courses. Sixteen one-week courses will be taught in the Spring and eight will be repeated in Iraq during the Fall. The lists of courses and faculty are shown in Education Program and the timelines for the courses and study tours are shown in Program Schedule. Sixteen technical and management courses are described in Curriculum, with a summary table with links to each course description and biographies of each instructor. Plans for the four study tours are being developed with Industry Partners and will be described as they become available.

Industry Partners and the Iraqi trainees will communicate with faculty through the project's internal web site before and after their courses. Course materials and each syllabus will be posted on the internal web site.
